What are you doing on Sunday morning? Well, here’s a very good way to spend it. Lunch and a stimulating talk with the people at ROCK! What a great acronym, standing for the Royal Optimist Club of Kingston – a dedicated group of young Jamaicans, who have been quietly doing some really good work. I wrote about one of their recent activities here.
So that’s a date, then? The Jamaica Employers’ Federation office is at 2A Ruthven Road, Kingston 10. Enjoy!

Harris, known for a string of popular dramatic productions is highly regarded as a communications specialist in the field of social and behaviour change. The district has been recently named the #1 District in all of Optimist International for 2017-18, the second time in as many years. Since its inception in 2011, the ROCK has provided support to Half Way Tree Primary, Kingston Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), Jamaica Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Walker’s Place of Safety, Jamaica AIDS Support for Life, Dunrobin Primary School, Early Steps Pre-School and Kindergarten and, Sophie’s Place, among others.

In the 2018-19 year the club will continue its special projects targeting children under its theme IMPACT – Inspire- Motivate – Partner – Applaud – Challenge – Transform while joining with the Caribbean District in advocating for Child Safety, with a special focus on Road Safety.
